Transco Mills New Kiln-Drying Facilities
Transco will now be offering kiln-dried decking for all of its decking products, including our 3 and 4 inch decking. The company will be using the most sophisticated kilns available. The average moisture content in our 3 and 4 inch decking will be 15% or less. By drying our wood in our kilns, Transco Mills is able to offer a far more uniform product. Our kilns, located in Prince George, are one of the most sophisticated units in operation in British Columbia. We are able to dry our wood evenly thus avoiding any splits or warps in our products. Furthermore, our kilns are heated with bio-mass fuel and are therefore totally “green”. No natural gas or oil is used in the drying process.
